Friends and Family

It is always so good to spend time with friends and family.  I have a new friend, Mary, who lives near me and whose husband died three weeks before my Frank in January.  So we are walking the same path of grief.  She, Catherine (another friend) and I went to a craft show Saturday morning, had lunch together and returned home.  We had such a good time.  The outing was good for all of us.  Mary hasn’t any family in the area and works out of her home, so except for a few neighbors she knows, had no running buddies.    Now she has.  I have enjoyed getting to know her.

After getting home, I later went to Cy-Fair (other side of Houston) to watch my youngest grandson, Grant, play in a Baseball tournament. His mother, Jamie, and I had a great visit.  God is working (as He always has) leading her to a new job which will give her more time with family.  Grant’s team did well….won both games.  The family came and spent the night with me and we had a good visit before they had to return to the BB field Sunday morning.  God has truly blessed all our sons and their families through their faithfulness to follow Him.  I pray the legacy will continue through the thousand generations.

I did discover though over this past week, the worst time for me now is driving in the car by myself.  Too much time to think about where I am in life w/o my honey.
