Keeping my grandson this week. He has asperger’s syndrome which is a form of autism. He communicates quite well but doesn’t enjoy much interaction with others. Although, he came out of his room yesterday saying that he hasn’t been spending enough time talking with me. So we talked about various subjects and then he asked me to read the Bible and discuss it with him. The particular verses he wanted read were Matthew 7:13-14.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction and many enter through it. But, small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Then he wanted to know why so many find the broad way and only a few find the narrow way that leads to life. He is really desiring to know and understand what God is saying. Then he said “If I share Christ with someone, will that help him find the narrow way? How can I do that, because they need to know Christ.” What a blessing to see this special child of God so eager to see others come to Christ. Wish I were always that eager to share this wonderful Jesus who has led me through the narrow gate into life.
