Alone — but not alone

After coming home from the hospital with knee surgery and facing my first night at home alone, I really felt the ache of loss deeper.  The pain medication wasn’t working properly (I misunderstood the directions) and the pain filled sleepless night was no fun.  I didn’t really want to do anything.  So I began listening to my music and talking with Jesus.  After about a half-hour the phone rang and one of my friends from church called.  We talked, she prayed with me on the phone and then reminded me: “you may be alone; but you are not alone.”  So like God to know what I need and when I need it.  Precious is He.
