Water

Every time I open my blog site, I look at the beautiful stream of water in the picture and remember our trip to the Dan nature reserve in Israel where this was taken.  There is something always so refreshing and restful about streams, lakes and waterfalls.  I am reminded of the words of Jesus that those who believe in Him shall have rivers of living water flow from their lives.  The springs of joy, hope and love that come from having his Holy Spirit within us are unfathomable.  They cannot be measured nor their supply exhausted.

No matter what I am going through whether sadness, grief, sorrow, loneliness, troubles, or just the daily irritations of life, if I turn it over to Him, those streams of living water flow through me hopefully into the lives of others to give them hope and joy in knowing Him also.  These past two weeks of solitude at home, while healing from surgery, have been so full of His presence and peace.  Jesus is the water that quenches the thirsty soul and brings life wherever He is allowed in.

Jesus said to her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water…. whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.”  John 4:10, 14.
