My First Prayers

From the night I gave my life to Jesus, I sought to please Him is everything. Because I wanted to please Him there were many activities I refused to participate in which saved me much of the heartache I watched others go through. I began reading and studying the Bible to know Him more. I began attending all classes we were offered at church to learn more about Jesus.

When I heard about the youth camp the church was taking a group to, I prayed and asked God to allow me to go. Later the youth director called me into her office and asked me if I wanted to go. God answered that prayer and He did that four more times before I got out of high school. So I knew He heard me and cared for me. Since that time I have never doubted the reality of my Lord. Though I have doubted His love and forgiveness for me. I truly believed I was such a sinner that I thought He couldn’t love or forgive me. It took much time learning to trust His grace and forgiveness for me.

“There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1
