Scrub me, Lord, asI scrub this shower.
Begin all the way at the top and the ridges, the cracks and the corners.
Those cracks are so many and easily overrun.
Make me stop and see all the dirt that is there. Clean out all the scum.
It does take scrubbing, Lord, effort and work to get it all clean.
Top to bottom; side to side;
no corner; no crevice; no square to shirk.
Clean me good, Lord. Throughly, through and through.
Drop the scales from my eyes Scrub the scum from my mind and heart
Until I see only you.
Then rinse me, Lord, with your living water pure and clear.
Don’t let any residue remain from my yesteryear.
Keep my eyes on You, Lord, my heart so full of You and that which You hold dear,
Or when I get a crack or corner Lord, I try to withhold from you
Turn me inside out, Father, and scrub me over anew.
